■ Operating Status of Our Property and Our Properties in the Yufuin Area

Following the earthquake, we have conducted inspections of our building, facilities, utilities, and other essential infrastructure.

At this time, no damage that would significantly affect guest accommodations or services has been identified, and we are operating as usual.

The following five properties operated by our group in the Yufuin area are also operating as usual, and there are currently no facilities or services unavailable due to the effects of the earthquake:

◆ From Fukuoka / Saga

Guests traveling from Fukuoka or Saga should take the Kyushu Expressway to Tosu JCT, transfer to the Oita Expressway, and exit at Yufuin IC.

According to NEXCO West Japan, the closure of the Kyushu Expressway between Matsubase IC and Ebino IC, which had remained in effect due to the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake, was lifted at 6:00 a.m. on August 14.

As a result, the entire Kyushu Expressway is currently open to traffic. The above route via Tosu JCT and the Oita Expressway does not pass through the affected section.

From Oita or Beppu, you can reach central Yufuin via the Oita Expressway and Yufuin IC.

From Kumamoto City, travel from Kumamoto IC toward Aso via National Route 57, then proceed from Ichinomiya, Aso City, toward Yufuin via Prefectural Route 11 and the Yamanami Highway.

As of 4:30 p.m. on August 3, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism reported that there were no earthquake-related closures on national highways under its jurisdiction and that access via National Route 57, a major route to the affected area, remained available.

The route from Kumamoto IC via National Route 57, Prefectural Route 11, and the Yamanami Highway is one of the main routes connecting the Kumamoto and Yufuin areas. Official tourism information from Oita Prefecture also recommends a route from Kumamoto IC using National Route 57 and Prefectural Route 11.

The closure of the Kyushu Expressway between Matsubase IC and Ebino IC was lifted at 6:00 a.m. on August 14, and the entire Kyushu Expressway is now open to traffic. In any case, the above route from Kumamoto IC to Yufuin via National Route 57 does not pass through the previously affected section.

◆ From Miyazaki

From Miyazaki, we recommend traveling toward Oita via the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway, transferring to the Oita Expressway at Hiji JCT, and exiting at Yufuin IC.

The closure of the Kyushu Expressway between Matsubase IC and Ebino IC was lifted at 6:00 a.m. on August 14, and the Kyushu Expressway is now accessible.

However, due to damage to Kawata Bridge between Miyahara SA and Yatsushiro IC, two-way traffic restrictions remain in effect, and congestion may occur depending on the time of day. Therefore, we continue to recommend the above route via the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway toward Oita as the main access route from Miyazaki.

■ For Guests Using Public Transportation

◆ From Fukuoka / Hakata

From Hakata, you can travel to Yufuin Station on the JR Kyudai Main Line using limited express trains such as the Yufuin no Mori or Yufu.

Please note that some Yufuin no Mori services may be subject to changes in rolling stock or operating schedules. Before traveling, please check the JR Kyushu official website for the latest service status, timetables, and reserved-seat availability.

◆ From Oita / Beppu

From Oita or Beppu, you can transfer to the JR Kyudai Main Line at Oita Station or another connecting station and travel to Yufuin Station.
